I love this reminder of the observances linked with true yoga. When yoga philosophy shows me the Yamas and Niyamas which are part of the 8 Limbs of Yoga I reflect on what areas of my own life I need to work on. I notice what areas I am drawn towards and have a good feeling about and what ones I feel something unsettling. To nice the somatic/body responses fascinate me as I've spent many years disconnected to my body wisdom. Bramacharya offers a challenge to me - it translates to a conscious direction of energy. Sometimes I get caught in waves of other peoples drama or negativity and forget I can take a breath
and move away from it. My ability to be mindful and aware has improved a lot but still amazes me I can be charging down a reaction road at some speed before I realise I'm half way down it! Widsom whispers in my ear sometimes - pull back, hold the line, take a breath.
